Correatown was a name someone called her once. The musical project of Angela Correa, her music undulates with reverberating layers of washy guitars, beautiful harmonies, growling fuzzed-out analog synths all threaded around her melodious voice. She sought out producer Dan Long for her latest album, ‘Pleiades’, a floating tapestry of textures and melodies, anchored by her mellifluous voice. Based in the Eastside of Los Angeles, she is a mainstay in the tightly knit local music community. Poetic and imprecise, Correatown is the place we've always wanted to be.
In previous incarnations, Correatown was an amalgam of early folk and indie-pop sensibility; however, over the past few years the sound has evolved into a lush and textured experience of melodic landscapes. in 2009 and in between touring throughout 2009 and 2010, created the sound of her latest album, Pleiades.
Angela Correa/ Correatown have released four full-length albums and two EPs on her own label, Another Room Recordings. The latest, Pleiades was released in September 2011 to critical acclaim.
